Customer Success Story with Patrick Sonnenburg

Patrick Sonnenburg has been a pest controller for 17 years. He started as an employee, but founded his own company in the summer of 2015. Sonnenburg Schädlingsbekämpfung GmbH started as a 1-man company and today has around 8 employees.

“Since the very beginning,” Sonnenburg has been committed to innovative, ecological and sustainable pest control. A wide variety of products are used, such as Gorilla Traps, Nara Spray, Nara Stic and Nara Bloc, but also products such as GreenHero Frost Spray.

Futura has accompanied Patrick Sonnenburg since he started his own business. “At my old employer, I’d heard of Futura a few times, but didn’t really relate.” This changed when he became self-employed, as from now on he was responsible for new products and alternatives himself. Through his old employer, he had already gained experience with some of Futura’s products and continues to use them in his own company.

WE ASKED PATRICK ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCES WITH NARA

What advantages does Nara have over other attractants?

“The big advantage of Nara is that you don’t mess up the traps with Nutella, peanut cream or anything else. Something like that starts to mold afterwards. Hygiene plays a big role here, for example in the food industry. Here one is also anxious to bring no poisons and active substances with and there the Nara Stic and Nara Bloc are naturally predestined for. It always depends entirely on the customer requirements.”

Which variety works best?

“This cannot be directly generalized.” Sonnenburg has all grades of Nara in use. “We already kind of try to hold on to what’s best received, and that’s usually the classics chocolate and vanilla.”

Are you satisfied with NARA?

“Yes, definitely. Especially since we went big with beat traps in digitization and do permanent monitoring. Nara is predestined for that.”

“With regard to digital permanent monitoring or also from the point of view of hygiene, I clearly recommend Nara. In this business, people talk to each other, and when a colleague arrives who smears his traps with Nutella, you’re bound to draw his attention to Nara.”

IN CONCLUSION, WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AS A COMPANY?

“We want to introduce as few poisons and rodenticides into nature as possible. All in the direction of permanent monitoring and non-tox.” The industry continues to evolve, and Sonnenburg is committed to digital, ecological and toxin-free pest control.
